here is the error message i keep getting:

Guild Wars was unable to connect to any login servers.
This is very likely caused by an internet routing issue.
If this problem persists, please visit the guild wars suport website (NetErr=58)

i have disabled my windows firewall(the only one i have) my anti virus software (eset nod32) has never interfered with programs before, my router is a westell wirespeed dual connect, i have forwarded the ports described, no differance. my personal opinion is that the latest patch/update is the cause of my problem connecting

Is this the computer that you had to take to the shop? There's always the chance that something wasn't put back together exactly like it was before that could be causing the problem. Are you able to connect to the Internet outside of Guild Wars?

nothing was wrong with the computer aside from a ram stick compatibility issue.
i am connecting to the internet with that very computer as i type.\
i contacted guild wars support and they are making me use ftp://ftp.guildwars.com/diag/netinfotool_allos_gw.exe to help them diagnose the problem. apparently there is a routing issue, i believe it happens long after my router. we shall see.

thanks for posting some tips though. i'll post what support figures out

update: still can't connect even though i have done everything they have asked:

Please download and run our network test utility, which can be found at the following link:

ftp://ftp.guildwars.com/diag/netinfotool_allos_gw.exe

Please allow several minutes for the network test to complete. Once it has finished, the utility will automatically generate a text file named network_data_GW.txt which contains the test results. Please send us this file once the test is complete.

Thank you,

As a purely temporary troubleshooting step, can you please bypass your router and connect directly to your modem with an ethernet cable? This is not intended as a permanent solution, but will help our ability to pinpoint the cause of the problem that you are experiencing. Please verify that you are able to browse to a website and then attempt to play the game. If you cannot browse to a website, please reboot your modem and after that is done reboot your computer, then try again.

Please let us know the results.

Please uninstall Ipv6, the server systems aren't currently setup to handle this protocol correctly.

To do so:

1. Click Start.

2. Either click Control Panel and then double-click Network Connections, or point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network Connections.

3. Right-click local area connection, and then click Properties.

4. Click Microsoft TCP/IP version 6 in the list of installed components, and then click Uninstall.

5. Restart the computer.

Please let us know if this helps.

and:

Let's try to disable all of the background programs from loading when you boot up your computer to see if it helps. 3rd party programs will compete for system resources and may cause conflicts if they are running at the same time the game is running.

To do this go to Start>Run>type msconfig and click OK. Click on Selective Startup, uncheck Load Startup Items, then go to the Services tab. Click Hide All Microsoft Services then uncheck all the ones you see. Click OK and restart. This will help ensure that no other applications are interfering with the game and may help resolve the issue.
Now try running the game again.

If you don't see any difference, you can put all of your settings back by launching MSCONFIG again. This time check the option 'Normal Startup' under the 'general' tab. Click 'Ok', and your system will boot back with the normal services and start up items.

Thanks,
Guild Wars Technical Support

i have done all of these things and still i cannot connect.
